Course description

This course has been created for teachers who want to know more about managing an effective and up-to-date classroom. Participants will learn how to promote a student-centred learning environment using various tools and approaches.

Session 1: Student-centric education

Explore the advantages and challenges of student-centric education. Assess how student-centric your own teaching style is and what aspects you would like to improve.

Session 2: Factors of Motivation

Learn about the various factors that drive student’s motivation and how to leverage them in class.

Session 3: Deductive vs Inductive Approaches & Case Studies

Learn how to create and apply case studies and other tools that can foster critical thinking and ownership of learning in students.

Session 4: X-Based Learning

X-based learning encompasses inquiry, problem, and task-based learning. In this session, you will learn how to apply these methods and learn about some useful tools to structure your approach.

Session 5: Constructive Feedback & Rubrics

Giving constructive feedback is a balancing act of making the students understand how they can improve without dispiriting them. In this session, you will learn how to apply constructive feedback effectively. You will also discover some useful tools for formative assessment and peer-to-peer evaluation.
