EPV-Approved courses
In order to register for an EPV-Approved course, participants are required to use their name as registered with the Teaching Council and to provide their Teaching Council registration number.
In order to be awarded the Certificate of Attendance for an EPV-Approved course, participants have to successfully complete the course. In order to complete the course, participants have to complete a minimum of 10 hours of learning online and 10 hours of other learning activities. The course consists of 5 modules of 4 hours duration. Participants have to post two forum posts per module and submit at least one assignment per module. Participants have to wait for approval by a designated E-tutor before they can progress to the next module. Participants also have to submit a Reflective Learning Assignment, which has to be approved by the E-tutor.
Plagiarism will not be tolerated and impersonation is considered as a breach of the terms of service. Participant’s log-in IP address will be recorded and may be used to verify that no impersonation of the participant is occurring. EPV-Approved Course participants will be asked to make a declaration at the start of the course that they will not engage in plagiarism or collusion and that they will not have another person impersonate them during the course. Registrants are required to provide a phone number. In case of suspected impersonation, the participant may be contacted on the phone to confirm that they are attending the course themselves.
Participants are expected to engage in forum discussions and the sharing of experiences. The courses will include social and emotional learning activities to create a safe learning environment and to strengthen camaraderie among the participants. Participants are expected to interact in a respectful and polite manner with each other.
After the EPV-Approved course has concluded, participants will receive a survey asking them to evaluate the course and to explain what impact they believe the course will have on their teaching, their classroom and school. Course participants will also be asked if they would consent to being contacted after 3-6 months to evaluate if their intended actions and improvements were realized during that time.
